Imposing the Will of God with the Power of the Holy Spirit!
What about Jabez? – 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
“And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
The phrase “WITH ME” signifies that I have a job to do that I cannot accomplish without God!
There is indeed a task at hand. As the Church, we possess the privilege of bringing the world system under the subjection of the Kingdom’s Will. We have unlimited power available to us, yet we often walk through Christian living as if we are powerless to change the world around us. It is time for the Kingdom of God to expand from your heart to the nations of the earth, but this cannot happen until we understand the power we have received and how to wield it. We each possess a supernatural ability from heaven. Let’s get with the program!
Acts 1:8 declares, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me …”
The request “that thine hand might be with me” comes from the Hebrew word (yawd), which means an open hand (indicating power), direction, and custody.
When we ask for God’s hand, we are not merely seeking minor changes in life; we are invoking a collision of two distinct worlds. When God’s mighty hand is displayed on earth, the Kingdom of Light clashes with the kingdom of darkness. Light does not win by default; it triumphs through imposition.
When you light a candle or flip on a light switch, light prevails because of its inherent property of imposition. Light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles per second, while darkness lacks the power of motion and merely covers. Remember Genesis 1:2, which states that darkness was upon the face of the deep. Darkness covers. Satan was known in heaven as Lucifer, “the anointed cherub that covers.” Darkness conceals.
Conversely, light pushes through. To impose means to establish or bring about as if by force. It implies excessive force. Consider when Jesus confronted the demoniac in the country of the Gadarenes; the demons feared the excessive force that Light represented.
When light enters, darkness retreats. The more light there is, the less darkness remains. It’s interesting that darkness only exists as shadows in the presence of light. That’s why in Psalm 23, David proclaims, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” You should walk in such light that the devil’s darkness is reduced to a mere shadow in your life.
The power of imposition is also evident in how governments impose taxes on their citizens. Tax laws are enforced only after being established through imposition.
The Church’s purpose on earth is to impose (establish) the will of God and enforce His Kingdom rule against the spiritual forces of darkness and deception. At all times, you are either imposing or enforcing. If you remain idle, darkness will encroach upon you just as it does on the unsaved and the wicked. Jesus has established kingdom rule, but the Church must proclaim it. Once proclaimed, we must enforce the rule of the Kingdom on earth.
Isaiah 9:6 declares, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 22:22 states, “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.”
Now that’s power! If I declare something is open, it is open, and no one can shut it. If I say it is shut, no one can open it. This is how enforcement works. Further examination of scripture reveals that this power has been given to the Church.
Matthew 16:19 states, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
You possess the same power that Jesus has. You may have thought that only God holds this power, but it belongs to you as well. It’s time to catch up to what God has bestowed upon you.
Pray this prayer: Oh God, let Your hand be with me and show me how to command it!
Jabez called upon the God of Israel—the God with the mighty hand. You and I need to seek the Power of the Holy Spirit, who is the God of this dispensation.
Let me tell you a story…
In the late 1800s, the nation was renowned worldwide for its music, entertainment, and sports, yet something was amiss. Bars and nightclubs thrived while powerless, passionless churches withered. Gambling and greed began to dominate virtually every activity, ensnaring the middle class. The decline of this class stemmed from a refusal to embrace God. Once the most influential segment of society, they became weakened and diminished, marked by economic failure. Bankruptcy and instability plagued those who now found themselves struggling just above poverty.
The hunger for personal pleasure overtook the culture as prostitution invaded the streets. Violent crimes surged so rapidly that there weren’t enough police officers to combat the crime spree.
Then, a former coal miner, a believer who carried his Bible into the mines, began to cry out to heaven over a 13-month period of intense prayer and intercession for revival. This revival was birthed in the heart of Evan Roberts, who rose each morning at 1:00 AM for four hours of communion with God. The Spirit would come again at 9:00 AM for another four hours. This continued for three months until his landlady, frightened by his enthusiasm, ejected him.
Little did Roberts know, God was unleashing a spiritual bomb in that room. This fiery revival exploded in Wales in 1904 with a small ministry team. Roberts preached a unique message about “praying in the Spirit,” envisioning 100,000 souls coming to Christ—a vision that quickly materialized during the Welsh revival. Within six weeks, over twenty thousand people accepted Christ, and the news spread globally, earning the revival the title “the Pentecost greater than Pentecost.” Its impact reached America, India, Africa, Europe, and Great Britain, marking it as the greatest revival in history. The dry timber of men’s hearts ignited through the fire of God’s Holy Spirit.
Where is your spiritual passion for God’s Kingdom rule? The power to impose and enforce God’s will on earth will not manifest by chance or lukewarm desire. You must have a fire in your belly—a burning ember of faith for revival and restoration deep within your heart. You must love God and everything He represents.
Pray it again: OH GOD, LET YOUR HAND BE WITH ME!
The conditions of our current society mirror those of Evan Roberts’ time. Will you become a carrier of God’s power as we strive to impose the will of God in Milwaukee, this region, and the entire earth?
The devil has gone too far—The Church hasn’t gone far enough!
The devil has intruded too deeply into our families, schools, and social order. We have allowed him to do so. Alcoholism and substance abuse are rampant in our society. Increasingly, people are oppressed by sexual perversion and obsessive behavior. They need to drink from the well where the hand of God dwells. They need deliverance! The enemy has encroached upon your health, finances, and relationships. In the name of Jesus, we must insist that the devil take his filthy hands off God’s property NOW!
Luke 11:20-22 states, “But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.”
The devil cannot hinder your takeover; he is armorless. The Bible tells us that Jesus stripped the devil of his power. The spoils are ours, and the fields are ripe with our harvest. Never underestimate the Holy Spirit as God. Through His power, we can transform the face of our city, our nation, and the entire earth! Amen.
The doctrine of cessationism—the belief that miracles, signs, and wonders ceased with the original Apostles—must be dismantled. The Holy Spirit is still here. You and I must pay the price of prayer to witness His extraordinary manifestations!
Are you prepared to live life without the Power of the Holy Spirit?
The English words dynamic, dynamo, and dynamite all stem from the same Greek word (dunamis) Jesus used to describe the power we receive from the Holy Spirit. Perhaps you’ve hesitated to ask for it. Maybe you feel you’ve been managing just fine without it. But do you often feel abandoned, deserted, and forsaken, even though Jesus promised He would never leave you? That’s because you may not desire the Holy Spirit in His fullness. He IS the Comforter sent by Jesus to handle the details of your life.
What can this Holy Spirit baptism do for me?
Joshua 3:5 states, “And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.”
Isaiah 8:18 proclaims, “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.”
The baptism of the Holy Spirit equips you for service, signs, and wonders, helping you build and expand the Kingdom. You cannot fulfill your Kingdom assignment without the Holy Spirit.
His power is unshakeable, and it will revolutionize your life.
Get ready! You may have been seated for too long, but God is about to release a glorious and extravagant level of His anointing upon you.
This is not about hype; it’s about the truth. God has a tremendous purpose for you! As you pursue God with everything in your being, He will use you to impose His will on earth!
Will you heed the call, embracing the challenges that lie ahead and stepping into the unknown with courage and determination, for the journey will not be without its trials, yet it holds the promise of growth, discovery, and the chance to forge new connections and experiences that can enrich your life in ways you have yet to imagine?
Let me pray for you. Heavenly Father, I come to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I ask for Your people to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Give them a divine hunger and desire to pursue and press into You with all their hearts, minds, and souls. May they experience the power that comes only from You—the power to impose, enforce, and build Your Kingdom! In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
